Conflict Management Coaching

Conflict Management Coaching is a structured and individualised process that facilitates enhanced awareness, knowledge and competency for engaging in and managing interpersonal conflict. Conflict Management Coaching aims to empower the individual to understand, tolerate, or work on managing conflicts. Conflict Management Coaching will not necessarily result in the conflict being resolved, as resolution may not be something within the individual’s control.

Application

Conflict Management Coaching is useful when one or both parties would prefer to develop skills to manage the situation themselves, rather than engage in a formal mediation process.

Conflict Management Coaching can also help prepare people for participation in mediation or might be used after a conflict when residual negativity lingers.

Difference between Conflict Coaching and Mediation

In addition to my other coaching qualifications and coaching credentials, I am a trained Cinergy Conflict Management Coach

One of the main differences between Conflict Management Coaching and mediation is that in conflict coaching a practitioner works with one individual only, while mediation requires the presence of opposing parties (in mediation, a neutral third party helps people in conflict negotiate and reach a mutually acceptable agreement).

Conflict Management Coaching and Mediation should both be a voluntary process. Conflict Management Coaching is not counselling or therapy.
